SRWD & Santa Rosa Bureau of Fire Protection Personnel
The SANTA ROSA (N.E.) WATER DISTRICT (SWRD), in cooperation with Santa Rosa Bureau of Fire Protection held a seminar on “Fire Safety and Prevention” at the Water District Office last February 1, 2016. After discussing the different elements and causes of fire, Fire Officers explained how fire can be controlled or eliminated with the use of fire extinguisher, one must remember PASS:
Pull the pin that is placed on the lever.
Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire. Stand six to eight feet away.
Squeeze the lever and
Sweep from side to side.
Participants were taught on how to handle the situation in case of fire emergency. SRWD personnel were also given the chance to simulate a fire drill duting training and put out a real fire with a fire extinguisher.
